🅲 Health and Citizenship Education Committee (CESC)

The Comité d’éducation à la santé et à la citoyenneté (CESC – health and citizenship education committee) is part of the management of each secondary school, in accordance with the provisions of articles R 421-46 and 421-47 of the French Education Code.

It is a body for reflection, observation and proposals, which designs, implements and evaluates an educational project for citizenship and health education and violence prevention, integrated into the school project. The CESC organizes partnerships according to the educational issues to be addressed.

Missions

  • contribute to citizenship education,
  • prepare the violence prevention plan,
  • propose actions to help parents in difficulty and combat exclusion,
  • define a program of health and sexuality education and addiction prevention.

Composition

  • the school’s educational, social and healthcare staff,
  • representatives of teaching staff,
  • parent representatives,
  • student representatives,
  • representatives of the commune and the local authority.

Representatives of teaching staff, parents and students are appointed by the head of the school on the recommendation of Board members in their respective categories.

Partners

The CESC can involve competent partners in its work, who can make a useful contribution to the school’s educational and prevention policy.

Chairmanship

The CESC is chaired by the school principal.
